Frustrations of a Fresher

"You are a Fresher", shouted the man, and threw me out of his office."Experienced Only", he yelled as he banged the door on my face. Gosh, i had never felt so bad in my life.
Everything was happening in an ultra slow motion as it happens in those ever predictable Bollywood movies. I was readying myself to sink into depression when, the alarm clock came to my rescue, and got me out of that nightmare.
Mine was just a nightmare, but in reality there are thousand and lakh's of newly graduated students who are living this nightmare.
FRESHER is not just some ordinary word from the dictionary. Its a tag given to all those freshly graduated scapegoats like me , who are up for auction in the Job Market. It reflects an advanced and upgraded social stigma of our country.

Fresher's in India are increasing by the minute, and jobs to accommodate them are decreasing even faster. High supply and less DEMAND, is where the problem lies.
All we cared about were the exams and grades.
We failed to understand terms like a slowdown, recession or pink slips.
And finally when we do understand these terminologies of the industry and decide to wait patiently for a lucky break, a new problem crops up.
The problem is our society and the people around us.
How do we answer those questions that are shot at us, by our friends, relatives and society??

"Hey, i heard you passed with good grades, no job offer yet?" asked our neighbor aunty.
(This is the most courteous way of KILLING someone with your words)
Ouch !! that did hurt. But i was ready to take her on. Had already played a prerecorded answer for this question a thousand times. So i say" Aunty, i sure am getting lot of offers, but am waiting for the right one." BOOM.. And i win hands down, at least for the time being.

This is what happens, day in and day out, till you get your hands on to that precious offer letter.

Throughout college, we worked hard day and night, to notch up those all important grades and graduate with flying colors. We always expected those top companies to be waiting outside that gate, to take us, and give us the best possible salary.
This is what a normal Indian student expects. Its a Dream, a beautiful one. But as we know, all dreams may not come true. Reality is a bitch, and when it strikes, we are left with nothing more than empty wallets. The fresher of today, has got no respite. Its a struggle till the end.

But as u know , if there is a night , there will be a day, and with the HOPE of a brighter tomorrow, the patient wait continues ......................
